Goat's milk: The G.O.A.T ingredient, or just a longstanding fad?

Goat's milk: The G.O.A.T ingredient, or just a longstanding fad?

One of my more popular soaps that I make is a raw goats milk & raw honey soap (liquid and bar varieties are available). But one frequently asked question which I've been asked personally and have even seen in other spaces is "why use goat's milk?"

Goats milk has been used for centuries as a natural and nourishing ingredient in skincare. Some even swear by just using the milk to bathe or as a moisturizer, but personally, thats just a bit too much goats milk for single use. Not only is it high in essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamins A, B6, B12, and E, it is also naturally rich in alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid, which help to gently exfoliate the skin. It is especially beneficial for those with dry or sensitive skin, as it is less irritating than cow's milk and can help to soothe and calm irritation. Because of this, goat's milk soap is especially good for people with eczema and psoriasis. Its nourishing and smooth enough to even be used on delicate skin such as infant skin!

In addition to its moisturizing properties, goats milk has also been shown to have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects on the skin. This makes it an excellent choice for those with acne-prone or irritated skin, as it can help to reduce redness and inflammation.

Another benefit of goat milk in soap is that it is naturally fragrant. Many people find the natural scent of goat milk soap to be refreshing and pleasant, making it a great choice for those who prefer to use natural products.

Overall, goat milk is a fantastic ingredient in soap for those looking to improve the appearance and health of their skin. Its moisturizing and gentle properties make it suitable for all skin types, and its nutrient content make it a amazing addition to your skincare regimen. If you're interested in giving goat milk soap a try, be sure to look for a high-quality product from a reputable soapmaker, like this one, or this one.

That's all for now. Happy New Year, and you have a BEE-autiful day!
